This might be the Google+ functionality that really sets it apart from other social networks. Having the ability to watch YouTube videos (and maybe eventually Hulu videos) while virtually hanging out seems like a lot of fun.
The question is, what level of friend do you have to be with someone in order to get on a webcam with them? Will this help to form more meaningful relationships between members of online social “nicheworks” via face to face (albeit virtual) group conversations ? Or will hangouts be reserved for hormone-infused groups tweens and very close family/friends.
Only time will tell, but it is DEFINITELY a feature of Google+ to keep an eye on.
